Morgan Guitars is excited to announce that after almost a quarter century of building guitars, we have surpassed the #2000 mark.

Over the past 2 years, David Iannone and Patrick Pothier have designed  one  very elaborate inlay to celebrate #2000. The image below shows the story we have conceived and designed and will cut and inlay into the back of a Morgan Concert style guitar with ebony back and sides. At the bottom of the back there is a big wooden barrel that is overflowing with Morgan logos. On the plaque on the front of this barrel, there is an engraved Morgan horse. This is the same horse that we inlaid on about 2 dozen pegheads in the early nineties. The back inlay has approximately 180 separate pieces of mother of pearl and abalone that will be cut, inlaid and engraved. All of this precision work will be completed by hand.

The other image (at right) is the peghead inlay which shows the man and the monkey (from the back inlay) standing on the railing( from the back inlay) fitting a Morgan Logo. All of the pieces used for the peghead are mother of pearl except the back of the logo hole which is black mother of pearl and the interior of the Morgan logo which is abalone.
